In a previous life I had to stay in Istanbul for several months. I did not really have the time nor the opportunity to concentrate only on photography but came away with some impressions after all before my good old OM2 died on me due to excessive dust inhalation…

In een vorig leven heb ik enkele maanden doorgebracht in Istanbul. Ik had niet echt de tijd en kans om enkel aan foto’s te denken maar slaagde er toch in, wat impressies mee te nemen naar huis voordat mijn trouwe OM2 aan een overdosis van stof overleed…

En tóch wil ik er een keer naartoe als die wereld weer in rustig vaarwater is. Dat zou voor iedereen het beste zijn, vooral voor de gewone mensen daar. Ik blijf dit prachtige foto`s vinden Nilgün!! Beso.
Dat moet wel vermits je terug voorbij komt wandelen… Of heb je ook een abonnement op de commentaren en niet enkel op den blog zelf? 😉
Rustig vaarwater is altijd wel ‘n beetje contradictie in Istanbul maar voor de moment is het wat ‘extremer’… En ‘gewone mensen’? Het zijn gewone mensen die op straat komen na hun werk – op hun balkon, aan hun venster of ook op straat op potten en pannen kloppen om hun ongenoegen te uiten – even gewoon als diegenen die de leugens willen geloven van Big Boss omdat ze niet beter weten… verschil ligt in het gedachtegoed dat beide handhaven, hoe ze de wereld en de toekomst zien…
Maar daar wil ik niet te ver op ingaan hier… 😉
Ja, beide vinken staan aan, zag ik. Stonden nu. En laat die Big Boss maar zitten…..:-(

In fact these are a bit of a hybrid species, witnesses of a transition. They were taken with an analogue camera, the late OM2, but when I was back in Belgium I just didn’t have the time to develope the films and asked a friend to do that… Then I moved and ended up without a darkroom. It was only some years later that I decided to scan them into the computer and see what I could do with Photoshop – and I sure was in for a shock then as none of my digital equipment was up to my usual standards – and me least of all… 😀
In a way they are my last chemical photo’s but also my first hesitant attempt to digital photography… the end of an era – and I cherish them! So I am very glad you like them 🙂
