This little fellow was the surprise of the day when I woke up on friday and in dire need of rescuing as snow was on its way… It took me almost 2 days to be able to catch it, long hours with wet and cold feet, not wanting to give up and abandon it to a certain death… My neighbour (without a cat) took it in and will see if a friend of his with a bunch of canaries will be willing to add it to his avian family – if it will recuperate from its nasty adventure, that is… I hope so!
The photo was taken through the window and is a bit ‘glassy’…

Dit klein kereltje was op vrijdag de verrassing van den dag en was dringend aan redding toe met de sneeuw op komst. Ik ben er wel bijna twee dagen mee bezig geweest tot ik het eindelijk kon vangen… koude en natte voeten maar niet van zin, het op te geven en het te laten sterven… Mijn buurman (zonder kat) heeft het binnen gepakt en gaat met een vriend spreken of het beestje bij zijn hoopje canaries mag – als het kan bekomen van dit angstwekkend avontuurtje tenminste… Ik hoop het!
De foto is door het raam getrokken en is ‘n beetje ‘glasachtig’…

Ja, hij valt echt wel best mee 🙂 Grote cirkelzaag maar toch ‘n klein hartje als het op verloren beestjes aankomt – en dat maakt heel veel goed 🙂

Thanks James 🙂 I was happy myself to see it being taken into a warm house… As it is, it did get a handful of what winter in Belgium can be like and what snow is… It was already getting weaker and that turned out to be the only way to catch it unless you can climb icy trees faster than it could fly up… and I’m a bit to old for that, I’m afraid!… 😉

Het was ook een heel mooi beestje 😉 Hier nog gewoon koud en wat verloren, letterlijk en figuurlijk. Later, met de sneeuw was het ook nog nat en helemaal verkleumd…
